Media and Accessible Design Lab (MAD Lab)

Transforming inaccessible experiences into inclusive ones that deepen understanding, broaden perspectives, and inspire engagement with the world.

The MAD Lab takes information traditionally presented visually, and creates tactile maps, exhibits, images, and alternative formats such as braille, audio, and large print, including fulfilling HIPAA-compliant requests. Our innovative approach to intelligent blind design is guided by the experiences of blind and low vision users from start to finish. We understand accessibility needs are not one-size-fits-all and we customize each project to your exact requirements, ensuring your business meets ADA compliance and becomes more accessible to your staff, customers, and community members.

For over 16 years, we have specialized in creating tactile maps, graphics, exhibits, and images that transform visual information into engaging and enjoyable experiences. Guided by blind and low vision users, our designs meet their real needs.
